USAWXChat Terms of Service

USAWXChat is operated by USA Weather, Inc., a Florida-based nonprofit organization. By requesting access or using this service, you agree to the following terms.

1. Eligibility & Access

Access to USAWXChat is not guaranteed. All applications are subject to manual review. USA Weather, Inc. reserves the right to approve, deny, suspend, or revoke access at any time, for any reason, without prior notice.

2. Acceptable Use

Users must:

Communicate respectfully and professionally
Not engage in harassment, threats, or abuse
Not spam, advertise, or disrupt operations
Not impersonate any individual or organization
Not knowingly share false or misleading weather information

3. Weather Information Disclaimer

USAWXChat is not an official source of weather warnings, watches, or emergency guidance. Users must rely on official sources such as the National Weather Service and local emergency management for life-saving decisions.

4. No Liability

USA Weather, Inc. provides this service "as-is" without warranties of any kind. USA Weather, Inc. shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the use of or reliance on information shared within USAWXChat.

5. Account Responsibility

Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials. Accounts may not be shared. Any activity under your account is your responsibility.

6. Monitoring & Moderation

USAWXChat may be monitored for safety, operational integrity, and compliance. USA Weather, Inc. reserves the right to remove content or restrict users at its discretion.

7. Data & Privacy

By applying for access, you consent to the collection of basic account information, including IP address and usage data, for security and operational purposes. This data will not be sold or shared outside of operational needs.

8. Service Availability

USAWXChat may be unavailable due to maintenance, outages, or technical issues. USA Weather, Inc. makes no guarantees regarding uptime or reliability.

9. Revocation of Access

Access may be revoked at any time for misuse, inactivity, policy violations, or operational needs. No explanation is required.

10. Agreement

By using USAWXChat, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service.

11. Code of Conduct

All users are expected to maintain a professional and respectful environment. The following behavior is strictly prohibited:

Harassment, discrimination, or abusive language
Disruptive or intentionally misleading communication
Spamming, flooding, or excessive messaging
Sharing inappropriate, offensive, or non-weather-related content

USAWXChat is intended to support situational awareness and coordination. Users are expected to act in good faith and contribute constructively.

12. Operational Use Only

Certain areas of USAWXChat may be designated for operational or partner use. Access to these areas is restricted and monitored.

Users granted elevated access (such as USAWX staff, government partners, or verified organizations) must:

Use the platform for legitimate operational or coordination purposes
Not share restricted information outside authorized channels
Follow all directives from USA Weather, Inc. personnel

Misuse of operational areas will result in immediate access revocation.

13. Logging & Monitoring Notice

All activity within USAWXChat may be logged, monitored, and retained for security, moderation, and operational purposes.

This includes:

Messages and communications
Login activity and IP addresses
Account actions and system interactions
Logs may be retained indefinitely or for a period determined by USA Weather, Inc.

By using USAWXChat, you acknowledge and consent to this monitoring.

14. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles.

15. No Government Affiliation

USAWXChat and USA Weather, Inc. are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the National Weather Service, NOAA, or any government agency.

Any references to official agencies are for informational purposes only.
